INFORMATION FOR THE PAPER-BASED JOURNALS AVAILABLE IN THE LIBRARY OF THE INSTITUTE OF ETHNOLOGY

The attached Excel table provides an overview of the large number of journals received by the library of the Institute of Ethnology over more than 50 years.

The journals are arranged in alphabetical order by title. In the table, journals published in Hungary are highlighted in yellow. The place of publication is indicated, and in a separate column the volume (or issue), the year of publication, and the number of available paper-based issues/copies for a given year. The first column indicates the reference/accession number of the given journal.

For example:

In the case of ACTA ETHNOGRAPHICA, the reference number 1(1950/1-4.) — 6(1957/1-4.) in the ‘Volume’ column indicates that issues 1-4 of the 1950 volume are available, and in the case of this journal, issues 1-4 are available for each year, up to and including volume 6 of 1957.

Another example:

For AFRICANA HUNGARICA: JOURNAL OF THE AFRICAN-HUNGARIAN UNION (reference number: F-929), the number 1(1998 /1-2.), 2(2007/1-2.) in the ‘Volume’ column indicates that issues 1-2 of volume 1 of 1998 are available, and issues 1-2 of volume 2 of 2007 are available.

The journal registry includes more than 950 types of journals. The journals are located on the shelves of the Ethnographic Library on the 3rd floor of the library building.

The current registry ends with journals received in 2019; it does not include journals received in 2020.
